Abstract

This has been surveyed on 491 workers in an electronic manufacturing industry company in Kyonggi-Do from the 10th of June to the 18th of June in 1996 through the questionnaire.
It has been concluded as follows, to compare male with female and the healthy with the poor healthy in living habit.

1) General characters of the survey objects are as follows:
Total workers are 491 persons (men 259, women-232); men are 128 and women 177 in producing part;men are 131 and women 55 in administrative part; twenties are 47.5% and thirties 26.9% by their ages ; high school graduators are 74.9% in academy career; under 12 years is 50% in the period of service and the separation rate is high.
2) The results of comparison of living habit in relation to health are as follows
Among the respondents of 372 people, it shows that 37.9%, 35.0%, men & women answered similarly to the confidence of health in the living habit ; men are more regular than women in the dietary habit; 7.9 % of men and 11.0 % of women taste flat in taste ; men like a meat diet, 9 % more than women ; 29.6 % of men drink once a Week, and men are more than women in the drinking habit ; 64% of men have smoked up to now ; generally, 70.7% of women haven¢¥t taken any exercise.
3) The healthy compared with the poor-healthy in living habit, there was no significant difference.
4) Health care center users monthly through the year classified by disease as follows; a respiratory disease is 20.5%, a gastrointestinal disease is 19.8% and vaccination is 17.7%.
5) Liver disease was 48.9% in 1994 among the abnormal in physical examination. It was decreased to 29.3% in 1995, and increased to 33.9% in 1996. However, anemia is observed 23.2% in 1996
Suggestion

1) Sodium intake should be limited in a dietary habit. It may prevent a circulatory disease? and had better take under 5mg of sodium per a day.
2) Alcohol should be drunken under 180m1 of soju(Korean alcohol) per a day.
3) Smoking should be decreased, and it is possible to decrease a circulatory disease.
4) If possible, refer to the constant program like `No Smoking Class¢¥ and provide an education.
5) Exercise improves the physical function and muscular elasticity.
To the objects should be presented exercise and program for their physical suitability and life condition.
